Defeat Diabetes

< 1 min read

World Diabetes Day is Sunday 14 November 2021, and this year’s theme is access to diabetes care.

The event aims to raise awareness of the importance of affordable, immediate and ongoing access to care and education for people living with diabetes.

Often, medication is the first resort for many diagnosed with or at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. But, unfortunately, simple, effective changes to diet can be overlooked as part of the overall healthcare plan. We believe the education of patients (and practitioners) is urgently needed to help them understand how diet can help manage their condition and avoid life-threatening complications.

Defeat Diabetes is proud to be Australia’s first doctor-led, evidence-based program to transform the lives of those with type 2 diabetes through carb restriction. Our program provides affordable and practical access to information to help those with pre and type 2 diabetes make informed decisions about their diet.

By working with those diagnosed and medical professionals, we hope to educate and empower those living with type 2 diabetes to find better health.

We’ll be posting more information and resources supporting World Diabetes Day 2021 over the next week, so be sure to check back for more information and resources.
