Losing weight is never easy, and it can be challenging for those who like to see instant results or who have struggled with weight loss in the past. As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, I’ve advised many patients (especially those who like to see results FAST) to try a Rapid Weight Loss Program to help kick start their health goals.

I’ve seen my patients achieve extraordinary results with Rapid Weight Loss, and I reckon everyone deserves to know about this tried and tested approach! For that reason, I’ve worked with the team at Defeat Diabetes to develop a safe and practical 4-Week Rapid Weight Loss Program for those who want to lose weight quickly (and keep it off)!

If you’re keen to give your weight loss journey a much-needed boost, here’s what I want you to know about losing weight rapidly (and safely).

Why should you do a Rapid Weight Loss Program?

A Rapid Weight Loss Program is a great way to kickstart your journey to a healthier diabetes-free life.

I’ve found my patients are more motivated to continue their health journey (and more likely to achieve remission) if they see rapid results within the first few weeks of their program.

Seeing their blood glucose readings go down or being able to fit in their old pair of jeans again can give them a massive incentive to continue with their health journey!.

The science of Rapid Weight Loss

Evidence suggests that losing 15kg (if you’re overweight) or 10-15% of your body weight (if you’re not particularly overweight) positively increases your chances of sending type 2 diabetes into remission.

While not everyone will achieve remission, losing a significant amount of weight loss comes with a range of health benefits:

  • More energy
  • Less bloating
  • Fewer aches and pains
  • Reduced medications
  • Improved blood glucose control
  • Lower risk of diabetes-related complications
  • And in many cases, remission of type 2 diabetes.

How does a Rapid Weight Loss Program work?

Most effective and fast weight loss programs work on a low calorie, low carb approach. Some, like our 4-Week Rapid Weight Loss Program, also incorporate a type of intermittent fasting called calorie-restricted fasting (CRF). It works by reducing calorie intake four days a week, with higher calories intake for three days. We’ve worked the plan so that you’ll only be eating low calorie for two days at a time, making it far easier to stick to!

But is it safe?

Eating a very low calorie diet for a long time can cause the body to adapt and prevent further weight loss.

That’s why our 4-Week Rapid Weight Loss Program cycles between low calorie, low carb days and higher calorie low carb eating days to help prevent the body from adapting and slowing your progress.

Studies have shown that intermittent low cal programs(like our 4-Week Rapid Weight Loss Program) are easier to stick to than trying to maintain a continuous calorie restricted diet.

In addition, my patients have found that cycling between calorie restricted days and standard low carb days makes keeping to the to a weight loss program easier, more sustainable, and ultimately successful.
